Hi,
I am here to seek your advice/opinion on a potential move from my current job to a role in PE/Private Debt (which would be a start from the bottom decision sort of).
Essentially I am 29 years old based out of Paris, I have been working in cross asset derivatives sales full time for the last 5 years and I have spent the last 2 years selling various investment solutions (i.e. structured products or tracker baskets linked to various type of bonds etc...).
My clientele includes family offices and from my discussions with them I see a clear shift of the FO community from liquid assets to private debt and private equity.
I am now considering whether a move to these asset classes would be smart considering that the regulatory burden on my current offering, structured products, is increasing and the industry is becoming "commoditized" if I can put it this way.
I feel like a move to the private debt/pe segment would allow me to join a growing industry that is not yet impacted severely by regulation and which is of interest to the smart money.
The question is: is such a move doable considering that I would aim to be a Private Debt Fund salesperson
I know this question must be vague but if you need more info to provide an answer let me know.
I appreciate all your help.
